Uses for Washi Tape that Lower Your Stress

Last year I ordered a really neat planner to help me stay a little more on top ofme and washi tape things. I really loved the idea of having the info I need the most right at my fingertips almost constantly. I could be productive and effective with less wasted time.

While I knew I would be streamlining my life, I didn't know I was about to develop a new love: washi tape!

Everyone with planners was raving about it, but WHAT in heaven's name did you use it for?
Over the past year, I have found oh, so many ways to use it. So much so, that I even designed and had my own washi tape printed.

If you're not familiar with washi tape, let me share. Washi tape is a Japanese masking tape that comes in varying widths, 7mm, 15mm, etc. You can rip it easily. It comes in colors and designs and holiday patterns. And my favorite part: you can easily peel it off and reuse it in another place.

So let me share with you…

Adding a Fun Flair to Life

  • Use fun colors as the tape to wrap gifts for others
  • Spice up mail you send to others
  • Give it to kids to use to tape up their noses to make funny faces
  • Let the kids go wild with their imagination using it. It comes off easily and doesn't leave a residue, so what's it going to harm? Plus it keeps them busy until they run out of it.
  • Add tape to jazz up plain brown paper bags for party favors or holiday gifts so you can buy one set of bags and use them for every occasion
  • Put  holiday washi tape around the edge of a mirror or photo frame for seasonal decor without breaking the bank

Around the House

  • Use it like painter's tape to keep from painting the molding in a room
  • Mark what needs to get thrown away or taken to donate, etc.
  • Indicate where problem areas like leaks, noises, or breaks are to repair men
  • Close up bags of chips, cereal, crackers, etc. in the kitchen
  • Keep a roll in your purse to use wherever you are: attach a note to a car or your child's backpack, keep an envelope you are mailing sealed, and all of those other last minute things where you suddenly realize you need tape
  • Attach seam guides to your sewing machine to help guide your lines- without leaving a sticky residue behind

Never again will cereal, rice, crackers, or goldfish get stale or fall out the bag. Just keep a roll of washi tape to fold and hold down the bag openings. The reusable tape works great for this.
Use washi tape to hold down sewing guides. Or, just use the washi tape by itself in the proper position AS the seam guide.
